I want to move to the caribbean. What is the cheapest and safest place to move to and how do I get a job there
-
I have been wanting to move here for a long time. I love the culture, the music and the kindness and sense of unity but I am having a problem finding a job and a place to stay. I would like to get a good paying job and live in a nice area but I don't know if it is possible or not. Any help would be appreciated. I have owned my own real estate company in California for a few years now and I am looking for a change. If anyone has any employment opportunities or a place to stay, please let me know. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks again!

remember all the Caribbean islands are either independent countries or part of European countries, so you cant just show up and live and work there, like moving from California to Texas. You need permanent resident or landed immigrant status and a work permit; neither are easy to get. As an American you should move to the US Virgin Islands where you'd not have that problem, and can check out other Caribbean island nations form closer range..... As far as living here, COLA is about 30 % higher than the mainland, but no winter wardrobe needed and it never snows; Jobs? Everything you'd find in a stateside small town of 100,000 or so, from accountants to zoologists......show up with about 3,000 for 3 month as rent and 3,000 for 3 months living expenses while you job hunt and there you are.......

I couldn't tell you about which is the cheapest or the best place to go, but I'm in Cancun, which is the Mexican Caribbean. I find it very reasonable to live here, compared to Great Britain anyway. There is so much construction going on here at the moment, I'm sure that you wouldn't have to wait very long before you'd get a job in real estate here, as the biggest market for sales is the USA and 90% of people here speak English. You could try a company called Puerto Cancun for a start, as they have a huge development at the moment. Good Luck, where ever you may find yourself.

I would like to think you could solve all of your problems by applying for a job on a cruise ship. That just may cover housing and food plus lodging until you become familiar with the area. If you have never cruised you had better give it a try. Ps I hope your single. lol Good Luck
