Can I get cell phone reception in Belize Resorts?

For spring break im going to a belize resort villa thing and im sooo excited. the thing is, my parents say that theres no reception there for american cellphones. i dont no if there trying to scare me, cuz the truth is im addicted to txting my friends. So i was wondering if there being for real or just scaring me? Please no comments on the txting thing on my spelling i typed this fast. THANKS!!

Yes, i went their just last year. Beautiful ! i went their and had fine cell phone reception, have fun i know i did !!
