By a recent study, This is the list 1. Barbados 2. St.Kits and Nevis 3. Bahamas 4. Trinidad and Tobago 5. Antigua & Barbuda 6. Grenada 7. Dominica 8. St. Lucia 10 . St. Vincent and the Grenadines These are the top caribbean countries in the Human Development Index. The HDI (Human Development Index/Indicator) combines normalized measures of life expectancy, literacy, educational attainment, and GDP per capita for countries worldwide. It is claimed as a standard means of measuring human development—a concept that, according to the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), refers to the process of widening the options of persons, giving them greater opportunities for education, health care, income, employment, etc. The basic use of HDI is to measure a country's development. The HDI combines three basic dimensions: * Life expectancy at birth, as an index of population health and longevity * Knowledge and education, as measured by the adult literacy rate (with two-thirds weighting) and the combined primary, secondary, and tertiary gross enrollment ratio (with one-third weighting). * Standard of living, as measured by the natural logarithm of gross domestic product per capita.

Answer:
I would love to travel to Barbados and Jamaica. Barbados situated just east of the Caribbean Sea, is a West Indian continental island-nation in the western Atlantic Ocean. After a brief claim by Spain in 1492 and later Portugal, Barbados became a colony and protectorate of the United Kingdom for over three centuries. The country currently maintains Queen Elizabeth II as head of state. Located at roughly 13° North of the equator and 59° West of the prime meridian, it is considered a part of the Lesser Antilles. Its closest island neighbours are Martinique, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent & the Grenadines to the west. To the south lies Trinidad and Tobago—with which Barbados now shares a fixed official maritime boundary—and also the South American mainland. Barbados's total land area is about 430 square kilometres (166 square miles), and is primarily low-lying, with some higher in the country's interior. The highest point in Barbados is Mount Hillaby (340 m) in the parish of Saint Andrew. Barbados's Human Development Index ranking is consistently among the top 75 countries in the world. In report published on October 5, 2009, it was ranked 37th in the world, and third in the Americas, behind Canada and the United States. Although Barbados' history is heavily influenced by its mainstay of sugar production, the economy is now dominated by services and tourism. The country is one of the largest global domiciles of captive insurance, and a growing number of companies have been expanding call centres to Barbados. Jamaica is an island nation of the Greater Antilles, 234 kilometres (145 mi) in length and as much as 80 kilometres (50 mi) in width, amounting to 11,100 km2. It is situated in the Caribbean Sea, about 145 kilometres (90 mi) south of Cuba, and 190 kilometres (120 mi) west of Hispaniola, the island harboring the nation-states Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Its indigenous Arawakan-speaking Taíno inhabitants named the island Xaymaca, meaning the "Land of Wood and Water", or the "Land of Springs". Once a Spanish possession known as Santiago, from 1655 onward it was the English, and then British, colony of Jamaica. With 2.8 million people, it is the third most populous anglophone country in the Americas, after the United States and Canada. It remains a Commonwealth realm with Queen Elizabeth II as Head of State. Kingston is the largest city in Jamaica and the country's capital.

I've traveled to a few islands in the West Indies - Trinidad, Tobago, Grenada, Barbados, Antigua, Nevis and St. Kitts and St. Lucia. Of all the islands, Antigua has the prettiest beaches; Grenada - the nicest people, easiest bus system and beautiful forests and gardens; Trinidad - you have to visit Asa Wright in the rain forest; Tobago - see the loggerhead turtles laying eggs on the beach and beautiful beaches and a must to visit Louise Kimme; Barbados - beautiful beaches, wonderful seafood (flying fish a must) but food expensive; St, Lucia and Nevis and St. Kitts - beautiful beaches! Going to Grenadines in 2011. I would consider living in Grenada, Antigua or Tobago.
Awesome, I have YET to visit the beautiful Caribbean!
