Best Caribbean Island for an April vacation?
-
Looking for a 1 week vacation in April to a Caribbean Island. I want relaxing, safe, resort to stay at, but able to leave the resort and find things to do. I don't want to worry about safety any more than normal travel cautions whenever visiting a new place. Been to Dominican Republic, Mexico, Bahamas and looking for something else. Not interested in Antigua, Jamaica, or Puerto Rico. Favorite spot so far has been Dominican. Any ideas?

Have you ever heard of the island of Barbados? It is a beautiful island. Lots of lovely scenery and so much to do, morning noon and night. You can never get bored because there is something for every type of person to take part in. Barbados is also romatic. Activites for kids and older ones…you will not regret visiting! The island has great beaches and is wonderful for shopping too! In Barbados you can also swim with Turtles. Wonderful sandy beaches with clear blue waters. Why not make this your destination? http://funbarbados.com/ http://www.barbados.org/ http://www.visitbarbados.org/Splash.aspx See the link below for stuff to do in Barbados: http://www.funbarbados.com/Activities/ As it relates to accommodation, there is a lovely resort in Barbados called The Barbados Beach Club. This is along the South Coast and has a lovely beach view. http://barbadosbeachclub.com/ The Barbados Beach Club is a reasonably priced all inclusive resort which offers breakfast, lunch, after noon tea, dinner, unlimited drinks, an exercise room (gym), pool aerobics, snorkeling, scuba diving lessons, windsurfing, Hobie cat cruises, beach volley ball, games room, free shuttle service to and from the main town and soooo much more. The activities that are included in this all-inclusive package are astounding. http://barbadosbeachclub.com/recreation.cfm The Barbados beach club has 3 restaurants on site and one of them is buffet the other two are a la carte. The two a la carte are seafood and the other is Italian. http://barbadosbeachclub.com/facilities_dining.cfm This is a wonderful resort in a wonderful island; you should come and explore it for yourself my friend. They also have a special that started December 16, 2009 and ends April 14, 2010 where you get 25% discount off the all inclusive rate: http://barbadosbeachclub.com/special-details.cfm?specialID=14571 For more information about the price for the time period you are looking at or any other questions you may have then contact them below: http://barbadosbeachclub.com/contact.cfm Have a look at the links that I gave you. Hope I helped! ♥ P.S This is a really nice hotel in a great island and I have stayed at the hotel twice so I can tell you that it is a great and affordable beach resort!

Maybe you might be interested in the following places. These locations offer both all-inclusive and non-inclusive resort options as they are designed for you to enjoy the entire island and not just the resort themselves: Saint Lucia - Sandals has 3 amazing all-inclusive resorts along this island Curacao- The Breezes resort is very nice there http://bit.ly/71uRJX Costa Rica - http://bit.ly/6ZzL1P Turks & Caicos - Bit expensive but totally worth it as the views and water is pristine

I have been to both the Dominican Republic and Aruba. I would say the Dominican Republic was 10X more fun than Aruba. When I was in Aruba, I felt like I was still in America. The only people I met while I was there was other Americans. However, when I was in the Dominican Republic, I met people from all over the world, including Germany, France, Argentina, and Brazil. Both the Dominican Republic and Aruba have beautiful beaches, but the Dominican Republic is 5X cheaper than Aruba. One visit to the lunch buffet in Aruba cost me $30. Also, the Dominican Republic seems to have more interesting culture than Aruba. Arubans seem a lot like Americans, whereas Dominicans seem like the complete opposite. Bottom line, avoid Aruba. I must agree with you when you say the Dominican Republic was your favorite spot. I suggest you try to step out of your "comfort zone" as much as possible, wherever you choose to go. You will feel more like your are having a unique experience, and you will actually feel like you are far away from home.
