Would a cruise on the Pacific Ocean be bumpy in January?

The weather for a cruise to western caribbean in january/past experiences with cruises at this time?

• I'm planning on going on a cruise in early january to the western carribean (with stops in tampa FL, cozumel, and costa maya) Does anyone know what the weather is like in those areas in early January? Also, for anyone who has been on a similar cruise (its a 5 night) please share your experience with me! This will be my third cruise, but my first cruise in the winter months. Thanks!!

  We did the 5 night to Cozumel several years ago during December. Never again. We discovered why it was only $295 p/p. There was a cold front moving through the area. Seas were rough. Lots of people sea sick. There was actually a 3 man vomit patrol roaming the ship doing clean up. Barf bags at all the elevators. Upper decks closed. Water was sloshing out of the ships pool. Port of Cozumel was closed. It was cold and not at all tropical like we anticipated.
