Best place to surf in San Juan Puerto Rico?

  • I am travelling to san juan puerto rico this november and am looking for a good place to surf. I have very little experience and am looking for somewhere fairly safe and even possibly take a lesson. Any Ideas? Best time of day to surf it?

    Hey! People in San Juan surf in el Escambron or La Perla but real surfers take the trip out West. The best is in Rincon or Jobos (Isabela). Isabela is less than a couple hours away from San Juan and to Rincon just add an extra half hour. plus you can get swell info online! =)

Well, first are you going to stay at San Juan Municipality or around (Condado, Isla Verde, Old San Juan), Best area for surfing is on the west side, Rincon is the perfect place to surf. To take classes and to surf, early in the morning. In San Juan, near the Caribe Hilton Hotel there is the Escambron area.
