What is puerto del sol like?

AT UNIVERSITY OF PUERTO RICO, WHAT IS THE SAFEST PLACE TO LIVE FOR FAMILIES?

• I'm relocating to Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico to attend graduate school at the University of puerto rico. I'm a single mother with a daughter in kindergarten and I am presently looking for a safe, clean, modern apartment /condominium to move to that is close to campus, el tren urbano, shopping, etc. So far, I have found online the following condos: Plaza universidad， Puerta del sol - are these decent places to live for families? Does anybody have any condo building recommendations? Also, what are the safest urbanizaciones around campus in Rio Piedras? Gracias.

  Plaza Universidad is just across the street from the Rio Piedras Campus. However, it does not seem like a nice place to live during the off hours of the university. It is like most downtown areas that after hours turn somewhat spooky. I would advice you to contact any local realtor and ask for recommendations. I would try to find housing close to any of the Train Stations that would reduce transportation costs. Keep in mind that there is a special tariff for university students! Another approach would be to find a good reliable kindergarden and work your way around what is best for your daughter. Torrimar Area has a small train station, nice residential area but will prove to be expensive. I do not know Puerta del Sol. I would contact the landlord and later a local police station for some sound answers regarding safety. Good Luck! Never give up!!!!
