Puerto Rico can participate in Miss America, so why can't other U.S territories participate as well?

Correct me if I'm wrong but yeah.. I think US Virgin Islands can participate but I never see any from Guam.. and so on.

Puerto Rico do not compete in the Miss America contest, we compete directly in the international contests like Miss Universe, Miss World, and Miss International, where we may defeat the selected Miss America. We have won : * Miss Universe title in five (5) times (1970, 1985, 1993, 2001, 2006). * Miss World title in 1975 * Miss International in 1987 Puertorricans residents at the states may compete to be Miss "state" (for example "Miss New York") and if they win then compete for the Miss America title representing that state.

Well.. there HAS been contestants from GUAM and SAMOA.. but it may be too expensive for them to compete now. It's not FREE you know.

This pageants cost lots of money it so happens puerto rico government will support funds to pay for this pageants while we can use the money for better purposes. It seems Guam and other US territories dont waste their money in these things, they rather use it for realistic purposes in their countries.

Ive never seen a Miss Puerto Rico in the Miss America pageant.. ?? Usually Puerto Rico stays seperate and then enters the MIss Universe pageant. I have seen Miss Virigin Islands in the Miss America pageant though
