Need some info about cell phone connection.

Need info about cell phone or tracphone calls from Puerto Rico to US?

• We have an Alltel family plan in the US, and my son is traveling to Puerto Rico. Alltel can't seem to help us, and we need to know the best way he can call us while he is there. Could he buy a tracphone or Go phone over there that will cover calls to the U.S.?

  Puerto Rico is part of the US. Any payphone will do too. There is also AT&T , Sprint and several National Carriers. And actually, if you look in the Tracphone website and check coverage, Puerto Rico is actually on the picture with the US mainland, AK, HI and next to Florida.. yep.. Puerto Rico; so i guess it's covered. And according to the Alltel website, they do include Puerto Rico in the National Plan(no roaming). I guess they should train their employees to identify the areas that they have on their own maps and tell them how they are called...
