Cost of Wireless service in Dominican Republic?

  • Hi, I will be travelling to the Dominican Republic for 2 months; I work from my laptop and I need to have access to the WEB on a daily basis; I would like to ask how much it will cost me per month to have a local wireless service in Dominican Republic? Can I buy a local Wireless card and plug it my laptop? or Do i need to buy a local laptop AND the Wireless card? pls advice thanks

    All depends where you stay (hotel or town) But in every place you will find internetcafees where you can plug in for your laptop. Enjoy it!

At the resort i stayed at it cost 15/Hour or around 92$ / week or maybe it was your full stay Buut you got back around 75 dollars at the end of your stay. If you are just staying in a apartment or something i'm guessing it would cost just a little more then it would here, but considering the fact that Dominican is still a 3rd world country the internet is quite slow. Sorry i could not help you very much =]]

At the hotel I stayed at before, I used their computer with internet access for an hour, it cost $10 ($5 for a half an hour) but it probably varies from hotel to hotel. There was also a way to get the internet in your room for a certain cost, but I don't know what it was. Sorry I couldn't help you more.
