What's the weather like in Punta Cana in May?

  • my boyfriend and I are thinking of going down for a week either in April or May. I just don't want it to be TOO hot.

    It's a transition month. There will be days when it's hot and humid and other days when it's mid-upper 80s and quite pleasant. Not too much rain in May. Generally pretty nice.

Go to Santiago, the people and the city in general are much nicer. Santo Domingo, Punta Cana and all of the other coastal cities suck, they're dirty, ghetto and poverty/haitian-infested. And the municipalities Jarabacoa and Constanza (I Think) in the neighboring province of La Vega are chilly year round, so maybe you should visit those areas, very beautiful.

Well I don´t have a cristal ball to answer correctly this one, but generally the weather in April and May is not to hot, with sometimes a bit of rain (10 or 15 min) to refresh the air. Enjoy it!

April and May are the transitioning months. It's almost ALWAYS [even in the dead of winter] in the 80's in Punta cana. During April/May it starts getting more humid.
