What are some fun day trips and excursions to do while in Punta Cana?

  • I'm going there on Sunday for a week, but I've never been to Dominican, so I'm not sure what fun things we could do during the day.

    if they offer you the day trip to Saona island TAKE IT! my hubby and I did that excursion when in punta cana last year, it was around 100 a person I believe. 2 hour catamarang ride, with music and rum. the beach is GORGEOUS! way better then the resorts. you get to swim in the caribbean sea instead of the atlantic ocean and the water is much much nicer. they will also take you to 'natures swimming pool' which is about a mile off the coast but still shallow enough to touch bottom, and will allow you to pick up starfish and take pictures and stuff. they serve a lunch on the beach and then take you home by speedboat. very very enjoyable!

If you do a search on "tours, punta cana" you will see whats available. You don't need to reserve now. all the hotels can do it when you get there. Personally I like the outback safari. You see the beautiful countryside and also how the local people live.
