What places should i visit on my trip to Dominican Republic? Que lugares debo visitar en Republica Dominicana?

Bavarao Region...been to Punta Cana...beautiful area...heard Santa Domingo is pretty awesome too.....also to get a true feel for the Dominicians, go to the interior of the island and just drive around.....a wonderful, happy people!!!

A lot depends on where you are going. I understand Santo Domingo is beautiful and historic, but if you visit Puerto Plata or, like I did, Cabarete, then it's pretty far. :-) If you are there during the time the whale watching is going on, that can be spectacular. Please be sure to pick a company, like Victoria tours, that respects the whales and does not go too close to them. There are some wonderful snorkeling spots off the north end of the Island. Sosua Bay has a great little reef - lots of fish. Puerto Plata has the rum factory, the little ambar shops and some beautiful areas, too. Spend some time relaxing, too.

I just got back from Punta Cana in late Aug. It was the best. Nice beaches with good food and drink. If in the US , do not be surprised if you see unusal things at the beach.

I would also recommend La Romana. The Altos de Chavon is beautiful. It's a village created to resemble mideviel times. There are wonderful shops and restaurants. I would also recommend side trips to the DR islands like: Isla Saona and Isla Catalina. Good luck!

Hi Julio C! The entire country is beautiful, so it really depend on what do you like and how much time you have. I'm VIP tour operator here and some of my guests stay and visit the entire island and this takes 3 weeks. So let me know Wat you wanna do and see and I guide you.

Go to Costambar. It's the most underrated little city on the island. Not many tourists, cheap, and the beach is generally quiet. Close to other attractions also. Rent a motorcyle for a day and explore, just watch the driving thing. A bit "hairy" down there. ok matt
