What is a better college choice?

What college in the Dominican Republic would be a better choice?

  • I'm planning on going to the dominican republic for college but i do not know which one of these two would be better if the pucamaima or intec. my major would be industrial engineering, now i know the best college for that major would be intec and i also know i would finish it a lot quicker in intec but what I am more concern of is which of the two is more recognized here in the United States or which degree is easier to validate if one from the pucamaima or the one from intec since im planning on coming back and validating my degree. I was born in the dominican republic and I speak, read and understand spanish perfectly so the language would not be a problem for me and also I am a United States citizen so I could stay otside the country for as long as I need (thought this info might be helpful).

  • Answer:

I´m pretty shure that a Dominican degree is not of much value in the USA or Europe.

I can tell you for a FACT that AMERIKAN EMPLOYERS do NOT recognize foreign Degrees.. they may SAY they do, but most of the HR managers won't even bother to call anyone out of AmeriKa to check references.. When it comes to being hireable.. academic credits earned OUTSIDE THE US are non existent to the HR people who do the hiring. Simply put "IF IT AIN'T AMERIKN.. IT AIN'T" Even when you are living outside AMERIKA and you need to build up CEU's for your LICENSE, you have to jump through all kinds of hoops BEFORE the course will be recognized by any Agency in the US otherwise you are just wasting time and money taking the course.. Getting an actual DEGREE in a foreign country is even worse.

Due to the low quality of the Dominican degrees, I doubt they are of much value in EURO or USA

My cousin went to INTEC for industrial engineering. He is a Dominican though. It's supposed to be the hardest school here, and I think he got a good education. However, if you are an American Citizen than you should stay in the States--the quality of education is higher. Since you are a Dominican I can certainly understand why you would want to stay in Republica Dominicana. You should check out some engineering schools in the states. tu no quieres ir a una universidad alli y regresa a los estados unidos porque podria ser una baina grandisma si tu no encuentras trabajo. Siga tu corazon meng. Para mi, me iria a la universidad en la republica dominicana si quisiera quedarme alli, pero si tu quieres regresar es un desperdicio de tiempo. hablamo ahorita
