What will the weather be like in Punta Cana in the beginning of April?

Is October a bad time to travel to the Dominican Republic (Punta Cana) with regards to weather?

  • We have travelled there twice before but in March/April time but are considering going later in the year, anytime from August - November really so any info will be helpfull - thanks :)

    I had to send my Crystal Ball out for cleaning so I can't TELL YOU what the weather will be like in the DR in 10 MONTHS from now. What I CAN tell you is.. the HURRICANE SEASON runs from JUNE to NOVEMBER and the last time I looked at a calender OCTOBER is WITHIN THE HURRICANE SEASON.. so what do YOU think the weather will be like.. your guess is just as good as mine JUNE........ TOO SOON JULY....... STAND BY AUGUST.... ALMOST SEPTEMBER.. REMEMBER OCTOBER.. IT'S ABOUT OVER

Well, that's hurricane season, so you never know....

That's actually the worst month of the year to go. The chart below shows average temperatures and rainfall by month. You will see that October has the hightest rainfall of any month at about six inches total. August, September and October are much better. But keep in mind the chart shows historical averages. You just never know during that time of year.

August to November IS hurricane season, so the weather could be bad (a hurricane) or just sun followed by rain followed by sun every day. Oh yeah, don't forget the humidity regardless that time of year.

To have better chance with the weather in that period better go to Puerto Plata and it is 10x better!
