Has anyone been whale watching in Gloucester, Mass?

Has anyone gone whale watching at Samana Bay in the Dominican for the peak season? Jan-March.?

  • We are going to Puerto Plate in mid Feb for 7 days. Probably the 15th thru the 22nd. I chose to go then b/c of the whales migrating back. I will be super bummed if we don't get to see many. So if you have whale watched there this time of year, how was it? I believe the place is like 3 hrs from Puerto Plata and it's called Samana Bay.

    I`ve been whale watching at about that time and saw plenty of whales. It isn`t one of those `attractions` [like some safari`s!] where you don`t get to see the main attraction If you go to my independent travel website www.dominican-republic-holiday.com there is more info. Click on the tab on the left for Samana and you`ll find more info. Consider a trip to Cayo Levantado if you go to Samana. It is a beautiful island about 20 mins by boat from Samana. Also check out La Churcha [a Church taken to Samana from England in 1824] and say hello to Rev Moses James.
