Can I bring Dr.Dre Beats Headphones into Cuba?

  • I am travelling to Cuba for the first time and I heard somewhere that headphones is not permitted. Sounds ridiculous right? Since the headphones that I own (Dr.Dre Beats Studios) is no doubt an expensive special type of headphones, can someone who owns a pair of these or similar to these headphones and also traveled to Cuba tell me if it is permitted? I really want to be able to use my headphones on the flight. Thanks!

Yes, You may Bring Dr. Dre Beats Studio headphones into Cuba. If questioned by Customs, tell them they are for personal use. In general they only are looking for large Electronicss such as TV's, and DVD players. These items are subject to a tax if brought in for gifts. I don't think CUBA would care.. but you may have a problem with the US Laws about the EXPORTATION of High Tech devices to countries on the embargo list. When we took the band to Cuba a couple of years ago, the State Dept. went through out equipment and we had to leave some important pieces of gear back in the US because they were considered to be HIGH TECH and not available for "EXPORT"... seriously!

Cuban customs haven't bothered with my PSP, DSLR camera, underwater camera, or ipods. I really think they have better things to do than worry about your headphones. A few years ago there were more restrictions in place but they seem to have eased up a bit.
