Will my garmin gps unit work in the bahamas for driving directions?

    Even the best garmin wouldn't be all that helpful, as most roadways don't even show up on maps in the bahamas. But this isn't really the issue here. Some areas in the bahamas are dangerous and noone should be driving into these areas. Dangers is surely not indicated on maps and gps. Unless you know where you are going, I wouldn't venture out driving, especially in Nassau. Crime is at an all time high, and I'm not talking robbery. I've given up driving outside my neighborhood or downtown Wouldn't recommend it to those who are not in the know

GEEZUS.. have you never heard of things called ROAD MAPS? They are printed on stuff called PAPER and you can fold them up and put them in your pocket and they don't need a GPS signal to WORK Some questions are just so F#@KING STUPID the defy an answer... Do you people have ANY IDEA how all your electronic toys work? For a GPS to guide you around the roads in the Bahamas you would need the BAHAMAS GRID COORDINATES in the GPS..something AND YOU DIDN'T SAY IF YOURS DOES. . Just because your GPS will work in AMERIKA does not mean it works in the REST of the world.

Garmin won't work, The best maps will be available on the island and available free to you, don't worry they will all show you the highlights of the Islands you won't need or miss your GPS.

Probably not. Most likely you will need to purchase add on software to cover the Bahamas. Check where you bought your unit.
