What are the 'must see places' in Nassau. Bahamas?
-
My family and I are going to Nassau for 5 days and I am trying to make a plan for us. Could anyone let me know what are the must do things or must see places in Nassau? We're not adventurist type of people so not really into snorkeling, swimming with dolphins etc. ps. no kids in the family :)

Answer:
If you are not into snorkeling, swimming and dolphins then WHY are you going to this island? Those are the main things people do. I suggest you do not go- really. I personally have really enjoyed the island and have lots of great ideas- I know nearly all the fun things to do but I'm not sure you would enjoy. Instead, I suggest you take a cruise someplace you will enjoy- there is a lot more to do on a boat. Nassau offers very little to see and do- a few local restaurants with good food- conch but the fun is on paradise island but not if you don't like the water and if you are not adventurous. Maybe you could take a simple dinner cruise or take in a show at the Atlantis but that's about it. The Atlantis also has a nice marine environment and huge fish tank but you might not be impressed. Without knowing you I am at a disadvantage. What do you enjoy- maybe a trip to Europe or volunteer for the week to help others or take in shows in NYC??? Nassau is fun but seriously, not for you. Other than the 3 activities you listed, there is not much else to do and none of the other things will be any better than they would be stateside so again, why bother? I hate to be so negative- not my style but it's like you said you just got a great new Corvette- that many would kill for, yet in the same breadth you also remark that you do not like driving.

Are you going to NASSAU or are you going to ATLANTIS? There is a HUGE DIFFERENCE. Nassau is just Nassau.. while ATLANTIS is a FAKE THEME PARK built on a FAKE ISLAND and the only thing about Atlantis that is NOT fake are the highway robbery prices they charge for everything.. Even CRUSH.. the teen club, costs $25 admisstion. There isn't too much to see and do in Nassau. The downtown is an old, dirty port town with one main street and shops selling crap to tourists. You can see everything there is to see in about a one hour walking tour. You can go to MARINA VILLAGE which is just like any of the malls back home. For a place with lots of stuff to SEE and DO.. you picked the wrong island to go to. You DO have your PASSPORT right.. you need a PASSPORT to go to Nassau for 5 days.. you know that.. right? BTW Even FREEPORT offers more to see and do than Nassau...
