Canadians know the song "I throw my hands up in the air sometimes"?

  • The song is called "Dynamite" by Taio Cruz. It's on the radio in USA all the time... It goes "I throw my hands up in the air sometimes, saying AYO gotta letgo..." I bet anything if you put on a top 40 hit station in Toronto, Mississauga, Hamilton, Windsor, Kingston, Montreal (you may even hear a French version), Vancouver...... anyways: What this has to do with Canada is that the term AYO!!!! was stolen by Taio Cruz from a Canadian pop-rock singer named Fefe Dobson..... This was the singer you may remember her hit song "Take me away" ... loll that's like saying canada stole the word "ok" from the states, or "ooh la la" from france. it's a word. :P

Hi Eric, If you want to take it a step further, you can say that Ayo was taken from the Harry Belafonte song 'Dayo' not to be confused with Mayo which is something you put on your BLT! So, that means it was "stolen" by an American, from a Canadian who "stole" it from another American! Which means, that it was actually "stolen" from the USA!

the media and culture is all the same in canada as it is in the US. so yes we know the song. the ayo thing was not created by taio cruise, that was used decades ago (i believe it was even in a beetles song) if not before that.
