What do aeronautical engineers do?what's their job?

Thinking of moving to canada. How is the job market there for Engineers?

  • I am a mechanical engineer, have been living the United states for the last seven years. I have a graduate degree in mechanical engineering and 5 years of experience. How is the job market in Canada? I am thinking of moving there because I like the laid back atmosphere and a lot of people there are into yoga, spirituality etc, which I like. But I am worried if its a good place for engineers to move. Is the job market and economy over there comparable to the US, especially for those in mechanical engineering field?

  • Answer:

Alberta is the best for job market.... For mediation.... there are more temples in Canada than US. We have more forest monasteries around BC than any where in North America. This is a fact. You will find a lot of meditation programs here. We also have more European (white) monks than any where in North America. Job market is really good here in Alberta. You should try alberta oil sands related companies in Calgary and the area. My mom just changed her job in engineering last month to a new better paying company here in Calgary. Many people think that Canada is not much spiritual, but in reality we have more white Buddhist monks than any other western country. Last time I check, its like 200 European monks/nuns across Canada and last week we got 12 new once in traning! You may try: http://birken.ca/ (its in BC) Your statemnet: "Whenever i went to a meditation retreat, there were a lot of people from Canada, I assumed a lot of people must be into new age stuff and spirituality..." That's 100% right on the money! You are not wrong....

Lol where did you get that we were 'spiritual'..lol and the majority as far as i know isnt into the new age stuff, where i live in kelowna i find they are but other than bc i havnt come across it really. thats a pretty broad generalization.. For the market Im not sure specifically for your trade but i do know that my fiance who is a journeyman redseal crane operator got laid off recently and was nearly impossible for him to find more work. Alot of his collegues are getting laid off as well and people are not paying as well as they did. Alberta, wich is the highest paying in his field and alot of other trades has really taken a dive. Hope this helps.
