How can you find out how many points are on your drivers license?

I have a TX Drrivers License and i got a speeding ticket in Ontario, Canada. do i get points on my TX DL?

  • Just wanted to find out if i i paid the ticket in full (that is i plead guilty) would that cause any points on my TX drivers License?

  • Answer:

I don't think the people who answered you got the point of your question...that you are OUTSIDE the United States and want to know if Ontario will notify Texas about your ticket. Well, sorry, I don't know either, but you could just ask in Ontario if they routinely notify your home state in the U.S. when you get a ticket in Ontario. Probably the only waty to find out.

Yes... You get points regardless if you pay the ticket or not. Just because you plead guilty doesnt mean you wont get the points. The only way to receive a ticket and not get the points associated with the violation is if the ticket it dismissed. Also it does not matter where you receive the ticket (in your home state or otherwise) if the violation comes with points then you get them. Good luck and drive safely.

OK, look bud, I left Texas many years ago but live in Ontario now. I don't believe the points will be reported since you were out of the country & Texas does not recognize most other states let alone countries when it comes to driving records. Email state capital of Austin and ask them. My wife got a ticket in Missouri on a Canadian lic. and it was never reported.
