Can I use my Philippine passport instead of a US passport?

Can you use your Canadian Passport to enter Canada and then use you US passport to return into the US?

  • I'm going to Canada n a few days for a 3 week trip and was wondering if I can use the specific passports to enter into Canada and return back into the United States.

    It's asking for trouble. If you enter any country on one passport but leave using another then your departure is not properly recorded. When you try to return the computer will flag up a problem as you are trying to enter a country you are already in. At best expect a long delay and a through grilling from the authorities. They are assuming that somebody is trying to use your passport to fraudulently enter the country. What will you do if you are refuses entry ? Bottom line, it's not worth the hastle.

Just use the one or the other you don't need both

Not a good idea. There won't be record of your leaving the US with your passport when you return which might get the crossing guards a bit more interested in you. Best to stick with the one passport for the same trip.

If you have dual citizenship and legally hold both passports, then its fine.
