Has anyone every gone fishing in red lake ontario?

Has anyone been to White Lake Provincial Park, Ontario (north of Lake Superior)?

• We used to go camping up there every summer when I was a kid. That was 35 years ago. I was wondering what the condition of the park is like today and if the Walleye fishing is still good. I'm thinking about taking my family up for a week in August.

  Yes it is a great Park. The Park is more developed than you recall. It has all the conveniences now. Many sites have power. Showers even. You will be happy but I would contact the MNR now and see if there is a vacancy. And yes there still is Walleye and Lake Trout in the middle of the north part of the Lake. Bring fly dope. The new fly dopes really work compared with the old stuff. You won't need much in the middle of the Lake. There is a bait shop at Dunc Lake I believe. Or the Esso in Marathon on Peninsula Road at Penn Lake Road. You might also make it a mini-tour of the area. Pukaskwa National Park is fully developed at the mouth of the Pic River. Another great provincial Park is located at Neys. It has that really good mile long beach. Marathon also had a cheap campground at Penn Lake Park which goes for under $20 Canadian per night with power. The park might not exist anymore because the Lion's gave it up. But the park is a great place to stay. Hope you have a good trip. Really envious. Its going to be frigging hot down here tomorrow. Why up there it might go all the way up to 70 or 80º.
