  I have experience with this. You must be Canadian - so am I. If you are going to look for a job, that could be tough. As you cross the border with you passport, you would say that you are visiting and you would need to say where you are gping, plans, the address of where yo are staying, for how long. They may not let you in if you say you are looking for a job. I have worked in the US for about 6 years. I worked on a TN first. Then on an H1-B. there are all sorts of work permits needed. Now I have a green card because I married an American.
