Living in Canada vs USA?

Canada VS USA? Which is better in your opinoin and why?

  • Uhh... yea lol I live near St. Louis and my parents will NEVER let me go there by myself(even when i'm older) because, well, its a pretty big a dangerous city to wander around in. I'm also fascinated about Canada and i wish that i could live in the suburbs of Toronto or any other city there because they were rated as the cleanest cities in North America. I also heard that Canada has a better educational system than the USA, how is that so? And that Canada's universities and colleges are cheaper than America's, is it true and by how much? And what makes Canada better than the US or the US better than Canada? Thanks :)

  • Answer:

Well first I'll answer your questions , 1 - Canada has a different educational system then america, for starters america is a grade age ahead. So a fifteen year old would be starting highschool in america whereas a 14 year old would be started highschool in canada. Is it better? According to my friend who moved from florida, she say's it's better. 2 - Yeah it's cheaper here in Canada, because the universities and colleges are better supported. Also canadian's get better benifits in the system so it makes sense it costs less. The price difference is pretty big but it also differs so if you want to compare then check out the web :) 3 - I find canada better because of it's multiculturism. The immigration laws are different here so we get more people from different parts of the worlds. Even though people associate canada to be cold that's only all the way uo in the territories. Most of canada get's four seasons' year round. And don't forget Canada has poutine and beavertails ( not actual beaver tails but dough covered in sugar and lemon and fried. It's a reall good place to be honest :) 3

Canada is more than a million times better than the USA. If you are Canadian you will be much better liked and respected across the world, you will live in a safe society, surrounded by friendly and down to earth people, you will breath cleaner air, have access to untouched and beautiful wildlife, drive on cleaner and smoother roads, eat better quality food, have free healthcare, surrounded by much better looking people to date/marry, be more fit and healthy, feel more equal, live longer and be happier in general. Americans on the other hands DO NOT know what they are missing because of their poor education and their lack of botheration to learn about the much better world outside the USA.

Canada has way less crime (especially gun crime) than the US. In fact, it's been getting safer for the past 20 years to the point where crime's at its lowest since 1973 - http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2011/07/21/crime-rates.html We've even got cities where there were no murders at all in 2010 - http://www.thespec.com/news/ontario/article/308373--windsor-murder-free-in-2010 And I honestly feel sorry for Americans that it's not the same down there. I can't imagine not going where I want, whenever I want, day or night, because of crime. Canadian cities aren't just safer and cleaner than American ones, they're also better places to live. When rated on stability, health care, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure three of our cities are the top five in the world. http://news.nationalpost.com/2011/02/22/vancouver-is-the-worlds-most-livable-city-for-a-fifth-straight-year-survey/ In terms of education, here's some good reading that answers things: http://www.insidehighered.com/news/2009/11/06/ashe and http://www.forbes.com/2010/06/14/canada-finance-banks-education-health-leadership-managing-rein.html As for which country is better, I have to say Canada is right now. Stronger economy, better banking system, less political trouble, better education, less crime, nicer and better-educated people. Sure, we've got our fair share of jerks and scumbags, just less of them compared to the US. And with our larger nation and smaller population, I honestly believe a lot of our success has to due with us being less stressed because we're not all crammed together like sardines the way people in the US are. Plus the scenery and seasons help put life and what's important into perspective better here. Canada's just good for the soul, y'know?

Health care: Free. Start with that. Education: a lot less expensive indeed. Also, fewer guns around.

Dude I live in Toronto. Canada is a boring country LOL, and nothing happens here, generally speaking. Over there you've got Sarah Palin, the Donald :-) Obama, etc... As for Unis, in first year ( lived on campus ) I paid around $15k. I don't think Can Unis are strictly better than US, but certainly there are some good ones here: McGill, Waterloo, U of T, .....

OBV Canada is much more boring than the US. America is obviously bigger than Canada and has alot more sexy places to GO TO duh. So your TOPIC of debate against Canada and USA is just dead and unfair. In my opinion, EXCLUDING all the nice fun cities and places both countrys offer...I will say Canada and my reason being is because, they have a better health care, education system etc. They offer benefits and free education in some cities ALSO Canadians are atleast 70% more intelligent than most people who live in America. Canada is also very clean place. PPL of Canada are very straight forwad and humble. But i cannot speak for them ALL as every country has ignorant people.
