Is Canada safer and a better place to live/work/learn than the USA?
-
I live in the US but my dad is thinking about moving my family to Canada. He use to live next to Canada and he regretted never moving there in the past. He's considering moving us there now because of America's crashing economy and job loss. I've heard in the past that Canada would never be better than the US but my dad's family thinks the other way. My grandfather use to be a patriot and showed a lot of patriotism to America but now he's not because of all the wars we go into and that the congress is cheating us out of our constitution and rights and taxes. I'm also confused about Canada because the kids at school see's Canadians as stereotypes;pancake eaters and hockey lovers but i always disagree when someone talks bad about that country, i know they're wrong cause they only see them as stereotypes :( So is it a better than the USA? I think i would love it there if it's safer and a better place to get an education :) (btw sorry if i offended anyone) Thank ya

Answer:
No offence to the kids at school, but they really have no clue what they're talking about. Personally, I blame the American education system for that. Over half of the adults in the 24 top international economies would pack up and move to Canada if they could. http://www.visaplace.com/blog-immigration-law/canada-visa-news/the-world-wants-to-immigrate-to-canada-if-they-could-survey/ Why? Because they know more about Canada than Americans do. Canada is rated as having 3 of the top 5 cities in the world. http://www.economist.com/blogs/gulliver/2011/02/liveability_ranking The US didn't even make the top 10. Canada is internationally rated as the friendliest country in the world - http://ca.travel.yahoo.com/guides/Other/995/the-worlds-friendliest-countries And it's second happiest - http://ca.news.yahoo.com/blogs/dailybrew/canada-ranked-second-happiest-country-world-194344661.html It's the safest country in North America compared to Mexico and the US. We're also healthier and live longer than Americans - http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/TopStories/20060530/canada_us_healthcare_060530/ We have the best education system in the world. America's didn't even make the top ten. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/23/education/23college.html?_r=4&hp We have the world's best banking system http://news.everest.ca/post/2011/06/canada-banking-system-is-world-s-soundest And business is booming up here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/07/09/need-a-job-try-canada-whe_n_640555.html http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/07/08/canada-economy-jobs-idUSN1E76701920110708 Look at the dates on those two news reports. They're a year apart. America's the past. Canada's the future. And hockey, just so you know, is NOT mandatory here. But a good sense of humour is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ic3xNfEP_o

It's more expensive because of housing. Don't worry about the hockey etc. Canadians have a wicked sense of humour. It's a safer country because of our atttitudes to violence and guns. Education is better than the US and college or university is cheaper. Life is safer because of universal health care. You know you won't get ruined by medical bills.

Canada is mostly really cold in the winter, so there's not a lot to do except study and learn. Personally, I'd rather hang out on the beaches of Texas or Mississippi. But you can get by in Canada without doing hockey. Hockey is only for the teenage beer-drinking crowd.

no. Its non capitalist. This means that people will not compete for roles as for instances teaching. Most good teachers from canada are in the states. It is probabaly better living. Polar bears, ice, permafrost, canadians,
