How much will the tolls be from Canada to Philadelphia?

How many and how much tolls in canada will i go threw?

  • I will be coming from rockford, IL and crossing into canada on the I-69 E/ I-94 witch becomes the 402. How much will i have to pay in tolls and when do i show my passport?

  • Answer:

I live in Windsor. You don't say where exactly you're crossing at but judging from your route, you will be entering Canada at either Windsor or Sarnia (1-94 crosses Michigan and there is entry into Canada from 94 at either Detroit-Windsor or Port Huron-Sarnia). Detroit has either the Ambassador Bridge or the Detroit-Windsor tunnel to cross at, and you can count on between $4.00 and $5.00 to cross (I think it's $4.00 or so if you're using American money, which I'm sure you are). Your passport is required on the Canadian side, when you drive up to the custom officer's booth, so have your documentation ready. If you are crossing at Windsor, the 401 (no toll) starts at Windsor and goes up to Toronto and well beyond. There is no toll on this road. Have fun! Oh, just as an afterthought, I-69E/I-94 does not "become the 402", or 401, for that matter. These are two separate highways in two separate countries and, in fact, if you are catching any highway out of Windsor, to TO, or whatever, you will find that you will go through about 3 or 4 miles of city traffic before you even get to a highway. Just so you know...it's not like they connect or automatically turn into the other...you may find it confusing, actually.

there are very few toll highways on the canadian side. The only one I can think of in Ontario is Hwy#407 around the north perimeter of Toronto but you can choose non-toll Hwy#401 if your heading that way. There is no toll at the border which is where you will have to show your passport.

Where in Canada are you going specifically?? There are no tolls on the 402. In fact, the only tolled road in Ontario is the 407. There is a toll to cross the Blue Water Bridge from Michigan to Ontario, I believe it's $2.75 each way. You must show your passport at the border. The border crossing is in Port Huron, MI.
