How can a foreign worker work in Canada?

How can you certificated your work experience to apply for a skilled worker visa to Canada?

  • pls help me! thank you so much!

  • Answer:

The onus is on you to prove to CIC that you meet the eligibility criteria, by presenting fail-proof proof of degrees, diplomas, certificates, etc., in the field, and having proof of employment (i.e. official letters from current and former employers with current name, address and contact information of your immediate supervisor, that can be verified by CIC, etc.). Be aware that even if your profession is on the list, you may not be able to practice some of these professions that are regulated by a professional body, for example law, medicine, nursing, engineering, etc. In such case, you could be granted a visa, but you would likely have to go back to school and take a number of years before being able to work in your original field. I personally know several experienced professionals with recognized degrees from reputable universities in their country of origin, but who could not pass the exam required to be recognized by the professional association and practice in Canada.
