Where Is Tracking Number?

Where is the Tracking Number for Canada Post on the reciept?

  • I sent a letter and I wanted to track it down, but I couldn't find out what the tracking number was on my reciept.

  • Answer:

Unless you paid for a premium service like Expresspost or Priority Worldwide, there isn't one-if it was just a normal first-class (aka letter-post) letter (59 cents)it's not traceable. The link below explains premium services and the number formats used for tracking... http://www.canadapost.ca/cpotools/apps/track/business/usingTrack?execution=e4s1#Formats

Other answers

There isn't one unless you specifically ask (and pay) for one. If you can't find it on your receipt, it means that it wasn't request and/or paid for. If you did ask and pay for one and you can't find it on your receipt, it could be that the receipt was misprinted, so go back to the post office and they should be able to provide with a proper receipt and tracking number based on the transaction record on the receipt.
