Would it take the normal delivery times for USPS to send a package from MI to Canada?

I delivered a package around the 14th of August using USPS and its now September 1st. I was told the package was never received. I was wondering if it may take longer to ship from Michigan to Canada?

It's probably stuck at customs, that can hold it up a week or more.
