• Hello, I cannot seem to find this answer anywhere. My fiance and I plan to go to Victoria Canada this year in November. I am a US Citizen and have my passport. However, my fiance is from Nicaragua and has a permanent resident card issued to him by the United States. He also has an up to date Nicaraguan passport. Does he need to apply for a Visa to enter Canada, even if he holds a green card?

  If your fiance has a US Permanent Resident (green) card, that is all he needs to get into Canada. If he tries to travel using his Nicaraguan passport, he will need to apply and pay for a temporary resident visa from Canada, but would not need one if he shows the green card to Canada Border Services.
