Does the ID number on the Canadian passport change when renewing?
-
i am renewing my Canadian passport and i need to know (to book flights) if the number stays the same or if each new passport has a new ID number
-
Answer:
Yes, you get a new number but you don't need the number to book a flight. You only need to make sure that the name on your flight ticket is the same name as that on your passport. If you are asked to provide a passport number to book a flight it is probably just optional info -- to make check-in easier.
