What are the pros and cons of Canada?

  • I am sadly writing a essay for Geography due Monday. I have to write a 5- paragraph (introduction, 3 body arguments, conclusion) typed, double spaced, supported opinion essay. i have to write it on if Canada IS the best or NOT the best country to live in. Can you give me some advice on how I can start off my essay ? PLEASE ..? this is what I have so far... Is Canada the best country in which to live? My essay as you can see is on Canada and if it is the best country to live in. I am going to be pointing out all the pros and cons about Canada. Canada certainly has its pros and cons itself but doesn’t every country? Although some people might think Canada’s not the best country to live in I can see where they are coming from. So I agree but I also disagree with them. People only think it’s not okay to live here because of everything that’s happened and everything that is happening. Here are some pros and cons of Canada; Pros: • Low crime- it may be getting worse but it is still better than most places. • Friendly people- • Freedom – you can basically do or go anywhere. • Beautiful scenery- anything else i can add ? please help me today.

Political stability is a biggie. Other countries are born, or change governments with gunfire or people dieing. Not so in Canada - political strife here may be loud, but in a world view, not at all threatening. People are free to vote, and no-one interferes with that. We have had very, very little violence that way, unlike almost every other country in world. We love our peace, and will fight like demons to preserve it!

That's a very good start. You could include: something about our rich history how it's been a safe haven for people for a long time.

Friendly people isn't exactly true. 1. Not everyone is friendly (this is inevitable) 2. I seen on a documentary that when people from the states were interviewed about their thoughts on Canadians, they said nicer things about us, then we said about them.

I wouldn't say it is the best country to live in, but I think if you are writing a paper it would be easier to write if you said it was. I think listing reasons why it is would be a simpler task than listing reasons why it isn't, because then you would need to do a lot of research on other countries and bring that into your essay. For starters I would just in your mind go through your typical day and think about all the things that makes Canada great.

pfft. Yeah. it's so f*cking cold I just wear a parka in july and freeze my as* off. not. most places have hot summers and cold winters. LIKE THE STATES. and more neutral fall/springs. many places, like vancouver,toronto,montreal, victoria are beautiful cities. there are many more. those are some of the majors. I didn't know there were cons to living in Canada. Compared with the U.S.... ps in VANCOUVER in like february the coldest it gets here is like -5 celsius.... any colder than that it doesn't last long or happen often
