What is an Air Canada international flight like?

How much can you make as a flight attendant for Air CANADA?

  • Hey everyone, I've been thinking about being a flight attendant for quite some time. I'm just wondering how much money they make. After reading some previous questions (about working for US airlines), it seems to be not a lot, which doesn't deter me at all, I'm just wondering if the numbers are different in Canada. If anyone could give me any Canadian info on this, like working for Air Canada or WestJet or any other Canadian airline, that'd be great. Links would also be appreciated. Cheers, & thanks everyone!

  • Answer:

My understanding is that their pay scale is unusual. Air Canada flight attendants are paid by the minute and the clock starts ticking only when the plane pulls away from the gate. Starting salary in CUPE, which represents most Canadian flight attendants, is about $20 an hour, rising on a nine-year scale to $45 an hour. Here is a link with some information. I hope it helps.
