What do you think of natural burial?

Answer:
I think cremation is even better, but it's a good start. 6 billion people though... if we keep burying people in cemeteries eventually we're going to run out of space.

I think I prefer cremation for three reasons: 1) The ashes can be scattered just about wherever you like, and is as natural as just burying the body. It would be like tree ash after a forest fire, the ash becomes material for the new growth. 2) It is suggested that natural burial should prohibit headstones and other markers that traditionally show a grave. But I think it is important for people to have something visual to be able to mark their loved ones passing, even if it is just a name engraved on a cemetery marble or granite wall. After we are gone, it is often the only thing to show that we existed in the first place. 3) Because they mention that the body should be buried "...shallow enough to allow the same aerobic activity found in composting", I have a terrible vision of a dog digging up a humerus or tibia, and lying on the front porch munching on Uncle Fred. No, I think I will go with the cremation method, but if you are comfortable with the natural burial process, by all means don't let me stop you. It's your right to choose. Just make sure your surviving loved ones know what your wishes are. It is never too early to discuss it, or to prepare a will. We can't let anyone know after we are gone!

I think its much more economical, less costly and ridiculous than the concept of being pumped full of chemicals, sealed in a over-priced box and encased in concrete. But then again, I am being cremated and placed in a bubble wrap manila envelope and mailed all over the world. Well...at least whatever is left over after organ/tissue donations and medical science.

I think once i'm dead, it doesn't much matter to me. It's whatever makes my family comfortable. If they want to use me for fish bait, so be it.

As long as I'm really dead, and there is no open casket, I really don't care.
