What do you need to get a US Passport?

I just became us citizen i dont have a us passport what documents do i need to get into canada?

  • I am still waiting for my first US passport and i don't know if my ID is fine to enter canada by driving. do i need anything else ? i just became a US citizen not to long ago ? Plz help

    yes dl is allowed for entry.. however, you may also be required to prove residency in the US, green card etc. to be safe I would have that with me and a receipt from my passport app. contrary to what some here say based on their experience, the world is changing... better to have all the info than being turned back... it does happen

Man, is this Yahoo Answers or Yahoo Misinformation? I am American living in Canada, until Jan./2008 you can enter either country with just driver license & birth certif. I cross frequently and won't need a passport until Jan/2008.

Apply for the passport and take the receipt and your citizenship papers with you, that should be enough, if you really want to be sure then call or go on the Canadian Consulate's website
