What is life like in Kamloops BC for a university student?

  • What is life like in Kamloops BC for a university student? I am an Australian student thinking about going on university exchange to Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops BC and want to know what student life is like there.. I'm a social person and hope that it would be a fun place to live. What are the uni accommodations like, are they fun and social, easy to meet people??

    I'm a resident of Kamloops and know you will enjoy the place immensely. We are on the northern tip of the Great American Desert that comes up from Arizona, USA, so our region is classified as semi desert. We have mild winters and long summers. Outdoor recreation is excellent. We are also known as the Tournament Capital of Canada. The city of Vancouver is a four hour drive from here if you want to visit. TRU has a large foreign student body with people from all over the world. It's a great campus and very active. I'm 78 years old and would be willing to be an initial contact if you have none. email me if you want.
