Any "down falls" to living in Canada vs USA?

What are the reasons would would rather live in Canada & what are the reasons you would rather live in the United States?

Answer:
Oh good grief, will this tripe about Canada having free health care ever end?? Canada does not have free health care. We never have, do not now and never will. **************************************… As for the question, I would never wish to live in the US. Its citizens are not free to travel to Cuba, millions upon millions of its citizens do not have any health care coverage of any kind and the US still still has, get this, capital punishment. The US still has a reputation as an aggressive nation that, under the Bush regime, merely spent its time and resources justifying invading other countries instead of making sure American citizens had clean water, enough food to eat, affordable health care insurance coverage and access to proper education. Sadly, the country is almost universally suspected and too many American citizens are viewed as noisy, aggressive dimbulbs who tend to see the rest of the world as their own personal playground. Thankfully, that is slowly changing but I still prefer living here in Canada than anywhere else in the world.

Canada tends to be more expensive with, well, everything because of the taxes. USA you can get a house for cheap because there are a lot of foreclosed homes. Many foreigners have already taken advantage of this and bought homes in Miami, Cali and New York, but the South has cheaper homes. Canada is very clean. Their extensive tax system will help to take care of much of your needs when you pay into it. You can get free healthcare there. In the U.S. a lot of people are still uninsured because it may be expensive.

There are several good reasons to live in Canada - one is that it is a little more laid back and low key. The second is that it is not a litigious society - in the US, everyone sues for everything. That doesn't happen in Canada (yet). The third is that Canada has universal medical coverage. That means everyone who needs medical care gets it, regardless of their income. Yes, hospitals, surgery, doctor visits, etc.etc.etc. are free. Not sure why 'Z' doesn't think health care in Canada is free. I guess, in a way, it isn't because the government funds it from tax monies, but there is no direct charge to the patient. That makes it free as far as I can figure out. I, and my family, have had various surgical procedures, cancer treatments etc. and have never been billed for any of it. If that's not free, I don't know what is.

Canadians pay for their health coverage except in SK and I believe Ontario, nowhere else is it free. So NO there is NO such thing as universal FREE health care in Canada. Here are the premiums for BC, its still lower than what people pay in the USA HOWEVER you get the same quality of care an uninsured person receives in the USA. Everywhere except Ontario, its very bad, with long waiting lists - even for so called "emergency" surgery here in Bc the average wait is about 7 days. If you have an combined household income of $28,000.00 or more: $54 for one person per month $96 for a family of two per month $108 for a family of three or more per month Ontario has the best health care, probably because of Ottawa and all the politicians As to which is preferable, it depends entirely on the individual. There is no one answer Canada and Canadians have a better global reputation, I would NEVER want to be an American and have to admit it

I live in United State and a citizen. I agree with one of the answer here. I believe American spend too much money stuff that they don't need or use. The house over here is expensive and inexpensive. I'm currently living with my parent and 19 by the way. The house that I live there right now was 1,400 but it became 1,425. So my parent and I are searching for a new house to live because for us its expensive. In a few years I might live in Canada in a few years from now. Why because first of all its noisy, stereotyping, and loves to spend alot of stuff which I'm not that type of person.
