How hard is it to become an emt?

How to become licensed in canada as a EMT coming from Unites States?

  • Yes I currently have a EMT license and how do I become a emt in canada. Also can I go to paramedic school in canada and work in united states. Who regulates who will get a license and what do I need to do.

  • Answer:

Patrick : I would suggest that you stay in the US, and to take a Paramedic course there. Why ? Canada requires that you apply to be considered as a potential immigrant. This is a long and involved process and unless you intend to live in Canada, on a permanent basis, it would be way too complicated to attempt. Stay in the States, and further your education there. Oh, this is going to be a bit complicated. The best starting place for you is to contact the state health department in whichever US state you want to be working in. Unless you hold EMT certification by the "National Registry" (a United States Agency) you may very well have to take a training course over. As far as the paramedic certification goes, you may very well have to take it here as well.
