http://www.hcareers.ca/seeker/employer-profiles/hcareers-hq http://working.canada.com/vancouver/sectors/hospitality.html http://www.raisinjobs.com/ are all great sites to use.. when I was looking for hospitality jobs here in Vancouver, there were a plethora of them! With you being a student in the industry, I would say that you have a big advantage over the other candidates. I would suggest setting up informational phone interviews, as a lot of the hotels (Fairmont, especially) are very willing to help out-of-towners find employment with them. Good luck!

I concur that finding a job at a resort is a good idea. BC Whistler always needs people, as does Banff and Tremblant. Other areas to think of are also the Niagara wine region in cities like Elora, Niagara-On-The-Lake, Stratford. Also Muskoka and other cottage-y areas would need people. From my own experience, everyone loves U of G hotel and food Admin students, so you shouldn't have that hard a time finding a job!

How about working for a university? At The University of Toronto - Scarborough they offer this job. Scarborough is to Toronto, what Queens is to New York City. My university roommate did this before. There are alot of residences at the Scarborough campus, and during the summer, most of it is vacant, so they turn them into hotels for travellings. Basically he did the same things anyone would do at a hotel; but the university paid him a salary on top on board at a house on campus where he only had one other roommate. Check out the university of Toronto's website. Goodluck, Toronto is a fine city, and you'll like it. BTW, my friend said that job was a stepping stone in his travelling...he's now been to China, Russia, Australia, Brazil....
