General passport application question?

Canadian passport application processing time question?

  • I sent in my passport through a local passport assistance office. It was sent roughly 2 weeks ago and I noticed they have finally taken the money out of my account last week which I assume means the passport was ready to send? Does that mean it could possibly be here tomorrow?

  • Answer:

On their website, it states that it will take 20 business days to receive your passport. Normally when you go to the office the agent normally will tell you the exact date your passport will be ready. It also depends on the demand at that time too meaning the volume of applications they are receiving. If they have alot your application will take a little bit longer. Since it's only 2 week I would wait 10 more days. The good news is they did cash the cheque so they did recieve your application and in the process of completing it. http://www.ppt.gc.ca/cdn/service.aspx?lang=eng&region=Canada

My renewal came 10 days after I submitted it at their service center in person. They said 20 business days is the norm for mail service.
