How best to find work in Canda from the UK?

  • Hi all, I'm looking for advice about trying to find work in Canada. Currently I'm an office manager and I look after all sorts of areas including - but not limited to - payroll, hr, health and safety, logistics, stock control, admin etc and I would like to find something similar in Canada. Unfortunately, I don't have any "formal" qualifications (I do have AS/A2 levels, NVQ level 3 in management, AAT level 2 etc) in terms of the above nor a degree and my concern is that because my work experience is not that of a trade profession that it might make me ineligible. However, my partner does have relatives that live in Canada; I'm unsure of whether or not this can/will have a positive impact. Can anybody advise me on whether - given the info above - it's possible to apply/find a job based on this and if so, how best to go about it? Are there any particular organisations that can help with this? Are there any companies out there that are best to contact that are open to taking on immigrants? Thanks in advance for your help.

    The first question from any employer you approach will be "What is your status in Canada?" When you answer"None", they won't be interested in taking it further. Here's the Immigration website:
