Where is the biggest flag pole in the US?

If I move to Canada and plant a flag pole with USA flag in my front yard would my neighbors have a cow?

  • I imagine with multi-culturalism people fly the Pakistani flag, the Indian flag, the UAE flag, the Iraqi & Iran flags and the China, UK and France flags all over Canada's front porches. So no one will have a problem with my flying the USA flag or better yet the Texan flag in front of my Toronto house? How about if my house were in the boonies? Still ok there?

  • Answer:

In most countries of the world, a national flag means that building or institution is a national one. So, Post Offices, or military installations, or government buildings. It is pretty much the USA who began the flying a flag as a sign of national patriotism. This idea is not common outside the USA. That said, Canadians will sometimes fly flags. It isn't common at all, but, if you wanted to, nobody would stop you. They probably wouldn't even comment. I have seen US flags flying here - quite a few in town in fact, as we get so many American tourists where I live. And, German flags too - for the same reason.

I don't think cows are allowed within city limits. People fly all kinds of flags though you don't see everyone with a flagpole on their front lawn. I've seen US flags flown. You'll especially see them flown in front of the offices of multi-national businesses or at least at the US consulate or embassy. You can fly the Stars n Stripes. You could your state flag though I doubt most people would recognize it. You might get some limited interest in people asking its origin. There's no law against flying the Confederate flag. I've seen it once or twice on the back window of a pick up truck. What it comes down to, being Canada, you'll mostly see Canadian flags & depending on the province or territory, the provincial or territorial flag.

I live in Canada and I have yet to see anybody fly a Pakistani, Indian, Iraqi, Chinese, British, French, German etc flag on their front porch. If they do, they will have a Canadian flag right beside it. I don`t even know why im answering this, everyone know`s you`re a troll.

It really depends on your neighbors. As a Canadian, I couldn't care less if someone had another country's flag in their yard, though as someone suggested, if you have dual citizenship, it would be a great idea to fly both a Canadian flag and an American one.

No-one cares. During the World Cup the country was awash in them and flags were being sold on every corner. You would be just another immigrant in Canada. What's so difficult about who cares? You could get a flag with the Easter bunny on it if you liked.

as long as you fly the Canadian flag above it all is good

tuppenybitz

it'll be fine, if your concerned about it put both on the flag pole

Tricks

People fly whatever flags they want: My next door neighbour has the Scottish flag flying. A neighbour across the street is flying the Provincial flag of Newfoundland. Down the street someone has a French flag. I have a Canadian flag on a wall mount over my veranda. The next door neighbour to my other side has a home-made flag honouring Canada's Easter Monday 1917 victory in the WW1 Battle of Vimy Ridge. People fly all sorts of flags up here, including US flags. It's not a big deal to us.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! Canada is just a trickster who is trying to lure you in with its universal health care and hockey and then pull the ol bait and switch when you put that usa flag in your front porch they wil KILLL YOUUU!

Probably at first but then they would stop caring:-P
