Where's the best place to go camping in New Mexico?

Wheres a good place to go camping? in the BC lower mainland?

  • i was thinking pentiction but all the camping sites are only family campgrounds and im 18 and going camping with friends so it has to be a small place close to stores n stuff to do specialy the beach any suggestions? OR if u know of any FREE private ausome spots im interested to hear but i was thinking a camp ground so i have a bathroom n showers n stuff n i wanna be on the beach

    Penticton is not in the Lower Mainland - it's in the Okanagan. It also has beautiful beaches along with Kelowna, Oosoyoos and Vernon. Very hot in the summer and actually the place to be . . it is the best ! Within the Lower Mainland you have Cultus Lake which is in the Chilliwack area. They have a Provincial Campsite and a City campsite there. Because of past problems with youth (drugs, alcohol, loud music and partying) there are strict rules. You can go there, but if you raise too much noise after a certain time . . . you're kicked out. You can go there, have fun, go to the beach (not have wild noisy campfire parties) and relax. Just use common sense !

Maple Ridge and/or Mission (depending on how close to the border you get) have great camping sites! Golden Ears camp site or Rolley Lake are good spots. I prefer Rolley lake, but it's a little further away than others.

Hicks Lake is good but it's a bit of a drive up near Harrison Hot Springs. Another good place is up @ Tamihi along Vedder River in Chilliwack. You're probably not going to find too many free places in the Lower Mainland because they have really cracked down on all the youth due to drugs, alcohol, noise etc.
