How water filtration in Vancouver, Canada differs from the one in Tehran, Iran?

What would it take to move to Vancouver, Canada for around one year?

  • I am a United States citizen, 18, and I am considering "moving" to Canada for around a year. I'm out of school and I have a friend there that I would be rooming with and I want to remain a us citizen. I know that I will need a Visa in order to work (still looking into that, info would be nice) and other than that and my passport, would I need anything else to just go there for a year? If so, please let me know. I really thought it would be more difficult than just having my passport, flying there, and having a work visa, being there for a year or so, then leaving and coming back to the US. But I guess not? I will not be living in Canada permanently and I will be getting an apartment with a Canadian Citizen in Vancouver, if I choose to do this. Thanks, all info will be appreciated.

Here is a the link to the Government of Canada's immigration information website. READ the section about " temporary work permits " on the left side of the main page. You must apply and be accepted, BEFORE you can enter Canada. A work permit is for a specific period of time, usually one or two years , and when it expires , you must leave the country. In addition you must be able to show that you have enough cash money in hand to be able to support yourself while you are here. For a single person that will be at least $12,000 dollars. NEVER assume that you will get a job in Canada. With no employment history, and no special skills, you are not what we are looking for. The fact that you have a friend in Canada is of no consequence, regarding your temp work visa application. Go here : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp Jim B. Toronto.
