Has anyone been to the Red Rooster in Las Vegas? What was it like?

Has anyone driven from Vancouver BC,canada to LA to Las Vegas?

  • My boyfriend and I were thinking about leaving Vancouver, BC, Canada on October 9th at around 1pm and hoping to get to Anaheim around 9am on the 10th and spend the day in disneyland. On the 11th, we were thinking about driving to Las Vegas and staying the night there. On the 12th, drive from Las Vegas back to Vancouver... How possible is this, and do you think it would be worth to do all that driving rather than just flying to Las Vegas for the weekend???

  • Answer:

You might be able to drive from Vancouver to L.A. in 20 hrs. But you'd have to drive non-stop to do it. Plus traffic in L.A. might mess you up. If you'd like to drive, I'd say kill the LA part, and drive straight to Vegas. Maybe make a few short stops along the way. Spend the extra day in Vegas. I think you'll find plenty of things to do there with the extra time.

Yes have driven to LA from vancouver but didnt drive over to Vegas but have visted there to directly too. Its 19 hours drive time down to LA. in light traffic and light border crossings and you are palnning on weekend so schedule an hour in there too so your 20 hours is possible if you dont get snagged anywhere. You'll basically be spending all your time driving though if you try the sidetrip to Las Vegas. There is alot to see and do between Lotusland and alifornia and you can easily spend 1 -2 weeks just cruising visting stuff along the way really its a destination in its own right for 1-2 weeks or shorter. Las Vegas is a place to fly in for a couple days and back out for a weekend is great. Spend a few days there as aside from the strip there aint much else in close surroundings. If you do drive to las Vegas in the future it would allow you to see Grand canyon and yellowstone, If you love driving and thats the main point of the trip... go for it. (and make sure your car and tires are in good shape as you'll be climbing mountains and crossing deserts and travelling a lot of clicks) You could easily get snow in some of the higher passes of the Sierra nevadas.

It would not be worth it to do all that driving over such a short period of time. You're talking 40 to 42 hours total driving time to and from LA. You only have 96 hours to play with if you are talking 4 days overall. So, assuming you want to sleep in there somewhere, the time you have to stop and enjoy anything will be limited. Having said all of that, if you love the driving part of the trip (as I do), it could be a great time. Just allow for traffic and weather delays. I've done Mexico to Phoenix to California and to Vancouver by myself and loved it.

You can get a cheap flight from Bellingham, Washington to Las Vegas for believe it or not, $28.00. Go onto the Allegiant Airlines web site and check it out. The drive would be very demanding for such a short time and you would both be very tired and possibly grumpy which could ruin the relationship. Please think it over.

Ive never done it but my grandparent have and it is more expensive than flying (Food, gas, hotels etc) and It takes 3 days. Instead you should fly there and drive to disney or wherever. Just rent a car.
