How do you meet young type touristy visas people in vancouver?

  • A little about myself I'm a 22 year old girl from australia whos been traveling all acorss canada for the past 2 years now living in west end vancouver. cos this city is really expensive most ppl have 2 jobs and me as well. How do meet 'young' type people in this city like myself I met so many people at hostels when i first got here but everyones moved on and I'm getting so lonley I need to meet people. cant make friends at work either everyone in the west end Vancouver is a so much older crowd and they take there job so serously cos this is there 'career' I have a few friends that work alot too and its hard to plan things with them sometimes time i meet friends of friends ... how do I meet people alone in vancouver I go to classes as well but thats expensive just to meet people... tried the bar scene too..meh lil nervus about going to a bar alone to meet people? All the young people would be around UBC commercial Drive Im prepared to step out of the box so any great fantasic ideas to help me would be welcomed highly serous responses only please

    If you like exercise and outdoor pursuits, you could look for groups where people do those things together. Running Room stores have running and walking groups twice a week, which are free. You could go back to the hostels and put up signs looking for people to walk, cycle, or hike with. If you're not meeting fun-loving people at your jobs, can you afford to consider a different job where you might meet people more like you?

Here are some ideas that you might be interested in.... -Running room clinics (isn't there one at Denman/Georgia) -Vancouver public library book club -Vancouver Continuing education has some yoga/dance/cooking/art... classes http://www.continuinged.ca/nr/vsb/cie/session.asp -North Vancouver Recreation Centers have lots of athletic and art type classes. They also have hikes throughout the week, often at night (~$6) -Free friday night dance lessons at Robson Square in summer (and fall?)
