How to get from Philadelphia to Toronto?

Vacationing in Toronto Alone at hostels?

  • I'm tired as hell with around where I live and all of my friends are trying to become "responsible adults" i.e. becoming ridiculously boring. I've been trying to get someone to go to toronto with me for a fun trip where we can just hangout, meet new people and see the city, but the problem is everyone has so many strings attached that finding a schedule they say they can work on has become a total pain in the ***. I'm thinking now to go by myself, but am wondering would that be as good as with a friend? I plan to take a train from Philadelphia then stay in a hostel, then come back after maybe two, three days. any considerations I should make?

Do you have a US passport ? That is one requirement to enter Canada. There are two hostels that I would suggest in Toronto. The first is the Backpackers Hostel, located at King Street west and Spadina, on the north west corner. Dorm rooms, but clean and lots of new people to talk to, and the staff can tell you about local things to see and do. The second is on Church Street, one block north of King Street east. It is the International Hostel Association , and it is smaller but still OK. Check with AmTrac about the departure and arrival times. The trains come into Toronto's Union Station which is located right in the centre of the downtown core, close to everything. Unless you are really hard up for money, I would say that 2 or 3 days is nowhere near enough time to even scratch the surface of "seeing Toronto ". Try to make it at least 5 days, minimum. Enjoy the city. You will be back again , I just know it. Jim b. Toronto.
