What are fun cheap things to do with kids in toronto?

  • i volunteer with big sisters and im always looking for cheap fun things to do with my lil sis. problem is she is extremely hyperactive and nothing holds her attention for very long. she also doesnt grasp the concept of money. i dunno what to do with her. any ideas?

    Woody woodchucks is a good place - depending on her age - that place is good for about 11 or 12 years old at the most. Science Centre is also good - even for hyperactive kids - there are places in there with hands on play and it's not that expensive. Chuck E cheese is ok - but they converted a lot of them into arcades they removed a lot of the play areas - so it can definitely get costly. McDonalds playhouse is always a good bet - albeit a short term one The Toronto zoo - lots of animals and lots of walking Swimming - excellent for hyperactive kids (I know this because my son is hyper active and it is excellent for him). There are a lot of pools around the city you would just have to get the locations and hours. Hope this helps!!

my aunt was big sister a few years ago, and he little sister actually enjoyed hanging around with us (neices, nephews generally the whole fam-dam-ily) because she found her home life somewhat lacking and it kind of gave her a family atmosphere. other things we used to do was paint balling, thats always a hit.. ice skating, swimming, trying on fancy clothes at a department store, the zooo (yes we were teenagers, at the zoo and had a total blast.) rec centers and libraries often hold alot of workshops or actvity days that can sound totally cheesy but can be alot of fun and super cheap.
